Grodan Growcube®

Next page: Grodan Growcube user guide

Are you interested in a container planting medium that:

  • is light weight
  • lasts the lifetime of your plant
  • tells you when to water
  • is recyclable

If you answered yes to one or all of the above then let us introduce you to Grodan Growcube® the soil-less container medium that promotes fast growth through releasing more water and nutrients to the plant than any other container planting medium.

Grodan Growcube is different from soil:

  • Grodan Growcube contains no water or nutrients for your plant.
  • Grodan Growcube can be looked at as the perfect ‘container’; It simply provides the means to hold the right amount of air and water for the roots as well as allowing the plant easy access to the nutrients.
  • What you put in, is what the plant gets. This means you must always put plant food in the water, when you water the plant.

For example. Here is a picture of Petunias after 2 months of growth, fed a 7-4-10 NPK solution one to two times per week (at 1tsp./gallon).

The plant on the left was grown in a standard peat potting mix and the plant on the right was grown in Grodan Growcube .

Grodan Growcube is great for plants that do no like wet 'feet', such as strawberries, cactus and succulents. Herbs and vegetables grow strong and fast with this product. Because of its open structure Grodan Growcube drains off excess water with ease, a beneficial feature when feeding fast growing plants, such as tomatoes and cucumbers. It is also our most forgiving potting mix, particularly if you skip a watering or your automatic watering timer stops working, plants will droop when the container is dry. At the first sign of drooping, water, and the plant will recover. On the other hand, plants grown in traditional soil/peat based mixes rarely recover once they “lay on the table”. Please note, regular water schedules mean less stress for plants.

Check out our plant guides for tips on planting your fruits, vegetables, herbs and ornamentals.

Containers filled exclusively with Grodan Growcube or our Granulate will last for the life of your plant. You may need to change to a bigger container at some point, but you will never change the potting mix. If you get tired of your plant then get rid of it and reuse the Growcubes.
